About This Service

An elopement is two people, a witness or two, and somewhere that would be wasted on a crowd. Without a guest list almost every constraint disappears: no seating plan, no transport chain, no venue that has to hold a hundred people. What is left is the choice of place and the light, which is the part that actually matters. In Sicily that opens doors a larger wedding cannot use — a terrace above Taormina at seven in the morning, a boat off the Aeolian coast, a baroque courtyard before the town wakes up. Legally these are usually symbolic ceremonies, with the paperwork completed at home or at the comune separately, and that is what removes the timetable. We plan the day, the photographer, and the two or three details that carry it.

Questions

How many people can attend an elopement?

Usually just the two of you, a photographer and one or two witnesses. Above about ten people the logistics start behaving like a small wedding rather than an elopement.

Can we elope legally in Sicily?

Yes, with a civil ceremony at the comune, though that ties you to their room and their hours. Most couples choose a symbolic ceremony somewhere striking and handle the legal step separately.

How long does it take to organise?

Two to three months is comfortable, and it can be done faster. The paperwork is the slow part, not the day itself.
