Wedding planner in Noto and the south-east
If Taormina is Sicily at its most photographed, Noto is Sicily at its most livable. Baroque towns of pale gold stone, estates in the hills behind them, and a coastline twenty minutes away that most visitors never reach.
Why get married in Noto and the Val di Noto
This is where you come for a wedding on private land. The Val di Noto is a landscape of walled estates, olive groves and low stone farmhouses, most of them family-owned and many still working farms. You are not sharing a venue with a hotel's other guests.
It is also the part of Sicily where a celebration can spread over several days without anyone getting bored. Noto, Modica and Ragusa are within an easy drive, Syracuse and the island of Ortigia are close, and the beaches south of the town stay quiet outside August.
And it is meaningfully less expensive than Taormina. The same budget buys a larger, more private day.
What a countryside wedding costs you
- —Guests need transport. Estates sit outside the towns, which is the point, but it means shuttles for every movement. This is a fixed line in the budget rather than an afterthought.
- —Accommodation is spread out. There is no single hotel that takes everyone: guests stay across the town and nearby estates, which needs planning early because the good rooms in Noto go a year ahead.
- —Inland summers are hot. Away from the coast, July and August afternoons are severe. Ceremonies move to early evening and outdoor lunches stop being a good idea.
- —Fewer large hotels. If part of your guest list expects a spa and a concierge, there is less choice here than in Taormina.

Siracusa, Ortigia and the coast at Marzamemi
The province reaches further than the countryside around Noto. Siracusa is forty minutes north, and its old town sits on the island of Ortigia — baroque façades straight onto the water, a cathedral built inside a Greek temple, and streets narrow enough that a wedding there is a walking affair rather than a driving one.
South of Noto the land flattens towards Marzamemi, a former tuna-fishing village on the very tip of the island. Castello Tafuri stands there almost in the sea, with a small square of fishermen's houses behind it. It is the only venue in the region where the water is close enough to hear from the ceremony.
Between the two lies the Vendicari reserve — salt pans, flamingos and beaches that stay quiet outside August. Couples who want a few days rather than a single evening usually end up moving between all three.

The best time for a wedding in Noto
May, June, September and October. Late April is green and beautiful with a higher chance of rain.
The countryside changes colour dramatically between spring and autumn — full and green in May, gold and dry in September — and it is worth choosing that deliberately rather than by date alone, because it changes every photograph you will keep.

Can we legally marry in Noto?
Yes. The comune holds civil ceremonies, and several estates in the area are approved for legal ceremonies outdoors. Many couples choose a symbolic ceremony at the estate and complete the legal step separately, which removes the timetable entirely.
How far is the coast?
Twenty to thirty minutes from most estates. Close enough for a beach day before or after the wedding, far enough that the celebration itself stays private.
Where do guests stay?
Split between Noto itself, which has small hotels and good apartments, and estates nearby. We put together a list by budget and walking distance so people can book themselves without asking you.
Is it cheaper than Taormina?
Generally yes, for a comparable wedding. Venues, accommodation and suppliers all cost less. You spend some of that difference on transport and still come out ahead.
