About This Service

A ceremony at sea is symbolic, which means the day is shaped by light and weather rather than by a venue's timetable. We charter the boat, plan against the forecast rather than hope, and hold a land alternative in reserve until the morning itself. Guest numbers stay small by nature — this is a format for twenty people rather than a hundred — and that is usually the point rather than the compromise. The Aeolian Islands offer the strongest backdrop, while the coast below Taormina is an alternative that is easier for guests to reach and more convenient logistically.

Questions

Is a wedding at sea legally binding?

No. A captain cannot perform a legally binding marriage in Italian waters, so the ceremony is symbolic and the legal step happens on land — usually at home before you travel.

How many guests fit on a yacht?

Realistically twenty or fewer for a ceremony with seating. This is a format for a small group rather than a full guest list, which is usually the reason couples choose it.

What happens if the weather turns?

We plan against the forecast rather than hope, and hold a land alternative in reserve until the morning itself. The decision is made early enough for guests to be told calmly.
