We plan LGBTQ+ weddings across Sicily for gay, lesbian and queer couples who want the island without having to vet every venue themselves. Italy recognises civil unions rather than marriage, which means a wedding here is a symbolic ceremony rather than a legal one. Most couples complete the legal step at home and hold the celebration in Sicily, and we plan both as a single process. In practice the symbolic route removes constraints rather than adding them: no comune timetable, no fixed room, no set wording. The ceremony is written entirely around you, in the place you choose, at the hour the light is right. What matters is working with venues, celebrants and suppliers where nobody has to explain themselves twice — and that is local knowledge rather than a list.

Can same-sex couples legally marry in Italy?
Italy recognises civil unions rather than marriage, so a ceremony here is symbolic. Most couples complete the legal step in their own country and hold the celebration in Sicily.
Is Sicily LGBTQ+-friendly for a destination wedding?
It depends on the venue and the comune rather than on the island as a whole. That is why we only work with places that have hosted LGBTQ+ weddings before and where the welcome is not in question.
Are there venues that will not host us?
There are, and we simply do not use them. The venues and celebrants we work with have hosted gay and lesbian weddings before, which means nobody has to explain themselves on the day.
Do you plan gay and lesbian weddings for couples from abroad?
Yes — most of our couples come from the UK, the US and northern Europe, complete the legal step at home and celebrate in Sicily. We work in English, Italian and Russian.
Does a symbolic ceremony feel less real?
In practice it usually feels more personal, because nothing about it is prescribed. There is no set wording, no fixed room and no comune timetable — the ceremony is written around you.
